I Believe in the Beat!

I believe in the way I feeeeeeeel.

This is the theme song from Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo and I woke up with it in my head. It was on TV this past Saturday.

So was Girls Just Want to Have Fun. If Flashdance had been on, it would have been the perfect weekend.

Don't you just love 80's dance movies? Apparently life is this simple: If you got problems, Just Dance!

You live in the Ghetto and some rich white guys are going to tear down the only place you have to go to keep you safe from the violence of the streets?

Just Dance!!

You're a repressed white chick with an overbearing military dad who's new to town and a really obnoxious Helen Hunt is your only friend (besides a tween-aged Shannen Doherty)?

Just Dance!!

You're a poor white chick who has no family, wears really clunky boots, and works as a welder by day / stripper by night when all you want to do is become a professional dancer (the OTHER kind) even though you have no REAL formal training?

Just Dance!!

Well, this tired momma who needs to go fold laundry before going to work, has to clean the litter box (ew!), and then will be busy auditing files all day will do the only thing that can make those tasks disappear!

I'm GONNA DANCE!

Lol! You are so right. Set any scene to (80's) music and you've got yourself a musical. Music is amazingly powerful!

Just dance your problems right out!

I SOOO hear you about Dirty Dancing, but I've given that one some serious thought - I don't really think it belongs in the same category as Breakin 2. Don't you think it's more of a Coming of Age story intertwined with dancing, as opposed to just Dancin' Your Cares Away? :o)

Man, I love Dirty Dancing.
I love Patrick Swayze.
I love Jerry Orbach.
And I love Jennifer Grey (pre it-made-her-unrecognizable nose job)

Oh man...80's anything rocks my world. I can't seem to get rid of my cassette tapes. Any of them. Is there a problem here or what?!! Admitting is the first step, right?!
